Unit Bylaws

36th Armored Infantry Regiment

1.  Membership:
A.  Age -  All members or potential members of the unit must be at least 18 years old to
become a member of the unit, with exception only in the company of a parent or legal
guardian.
B.  Dues -  All members must pay dues once per year to remain in good standing.  The
dues are $20.00 per person per annum.
1.  Unit Fund - All dues, collections and profits from sale of unit equipment will go into
the unit fund.  This fund will be administered by the unit treasurer who will be
responsible for keeping balance and disbursing of unit funds at the behest of the unit as a
whole by elections or by the command staff when necessary.  The funds will be used for
purchase and maintenance of unit common gear (tents, flys, etc) and fuel reimbursement
when necessary for hauling the unit gear, and for any expenses needed to maintain a unit
website.
2.  Collections - On occasion, the hat will be passed around for a special collection,
everyone is asked to give what they can, if you cannot give, that is not a problem.  One
example of such an occasion would be if someone showed up with a half-track and allowed
our unit members to ride in their half-track, we would pass the hat to help offset the cost
to that person as a gift for letting us ride in the half-track.
C.  Requirements - Recruits may only become full members once they have obtained
their uniform, helmet, battle gear (belt, suspenders, musette bag, canteen w/cover and
cup), boots and weapon.
D.  Confirmation - All potential members must be voted on by the entire unit with a
majority vote.
E.  No one convicted of any felony level crime will be permitted to participate with the unit.

2.  Unit Officers:
A.  Officers - Unit officers shall consist of the following personnel:  President, Vice
President, Adjutant, Treasurer and an alternate for a total of 5 persons.
B.  Election - Unit officers will be elected once every two years at an event designated as a
maximum effort event with each member in good standing having one vote per member.
C.  Recall - At any time the majority of the unit feels like there needs to be a change in
officers or in case of an un-forseen emergency, the unit members may request a special
recall vote.
D.  Authority - Unit officers will only act on the best interest of the GROUP as a whole,
and with the groups support.

3.  Authenticity/Rank structure:
A.  Unit authenticity officer - One of the elected officers will be the unit authenticity
officer and will ensure that all unit authenticity regulations are followed.
B.  Rank - Rank in the field does not necessarily connote officer status within the unit.  
1.  Commissioned Officers, SNCO's and NCO's - No one will wear any stripes/rank
insignia unless specifically told to by the elected officers.
2.  The unit will adhere to a authentic rank structure in the field as much as possible,
with the breakdown as follows:
 a.  5-10 members - 1 Sfc, 1 Ssgt, 2 Sgts, 2 Corporals, the rest Pfc/Pvts.
 b.  11-20 members - 1 Capt, 1 1stLt,  1 Sfc, 1 Ssgt,  2 Sgts, 4 Corporals, the rest
Pfc/Pvts.
 c.  21-30 members - 1 Capt, 1 1stLt, 1 1stSgt,  1Sfc, 2 Ssgts, 4 Sgts, 6 Corporals, the
rest Pfc/Pvts
 d.  31+ members - Modify as necessary from line (c)

4.  Unit Behavior:
A.  All personnel of the unit are expected to behave in a way as to bring credit upon the
members of the armed forces, obey all local, state and federal laws, to include
NFA/Class III firearms laws.
B.  Political advocacy - There will be no partisan political activity within the unit,
outside of casual conversation.  No one will advocate any type of radical, racial,
antiamerican or anti-military rhetoric.  Any member caught doing so will be removed
from the group by a vote from the unit officers.
C.  Military awards - No medals of valor (bronze star, silver star etc)  or awards for
valor will be worn by anyone unless they were in the military and can produce a DD214
to sub-stanciate a claim to such an award. Any member caught doing so will be removed
from the group by a vote from the unit officers.
D.  Safety - All members will demonstrate safe weapons handling skills and safety with
use of blank ammunition and are expected to maintain that level of safety outside of
actual reenactments.

5.  Umbrella organisations:
A. If in the course of our existince we are asked to become a part of an umbrella
organisation, it may only happen by a vote of ALL members with a 90% majority.

6.  Miscellaneous:
A.   Anything not covered by these bylaws must be voted on by ALL members of the unit,
with at least 80% approval majority before implementation.
